BETWEEN "PORFIRIANO" AND "VIRREINAL"
Epazoyucan has interesting sites that range from natural wooded areas, where you can practice extreme sports, to places to camp and of course learn about its history, through the large religious buildings, and former pulque farms. You will visit the former convent of San Andrés Apóstol, founded in 1540 by the Augustinian friars. This former convent has extraordinary polychrome wall paintings with scenes from the Last Supper, Ecce Homo and the Transit of the Virgin. These three tabular paintings by Epazoyucan were part of a single altarpiece and are an example of how people transmitted the message about the life of Jesus Christ, from his birth and the adoration of the kings, to two scenes of the Passion: the prayer in the garden and the ecce homo. Visit Hacienda La Concepción, a special place with a lot of history in its walls. Hacienda La Concepción is an old Jesuit hacienda that was built in the 18th century. At that time, the farm had a patio dedicated to the production of grains, vegetables and fruits. Today, the hacienda shines for the elegance and majesty of its facilities.
